William "Bill" Guy BartlettLUCAS: William "Bill" Guy Bartlett, age 83, passed away on March 8, 2017 surrounded by family; proudly at home until his last few days. He was born on June 13, 1933 in Schenectady, New York. Bill received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Union College in 1957. Bill moved to Stockertown, Pennsylvania, in 1958 where he worked at Bethlehem Steel. After retiring, Bill and the family moved to Trail, Ohio (1973-1976) followed by Mansfield, Ohio, until his death. Bill was a dedicated member of St. Mary of the Snows Catholic Parish and its folk group for many years. He also volunteered teaching computer classes at St. Mary's Catholic School. His interests included his family, catching butterflies, disassembling and reassembling things, and making music with his wife, Marianne. He and Marianne built a life of celebration with a community of his family and friends, in part through a rule that bound the children together: all for one and one for all. He is survived by a large family of funny, intelligent, loving people including ten children, Robin and her husband Eric, Suzanne, Bill and his wife Martha, Clare and her partner Debra, Chris and his wife Charmaine, Mary Elizabeth, Mark and his wife Mary, Patrice and her husband Yves, Andrew and his wife Kate, Matt and his wife Amy; foster daughter Michele; twenty-two grandchildren, Mark, Clare, Stephen, Jessica, Stephanie, Michael, Savannah, Ian, Emmett, John Christopher, Paula, Galen, Leah, Adele, Claudine, Ray, Will, Scott, Logan, Joseph, Jarrod, Erin; thirteen great-grandchildren, Henry, Virginia, Oscar, Elsie, Kennedy, Vayda, William, Warren, Carter, Roman, Demetrius, Addison and Avery; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Marianne; his grandson, Matthew Guy; his parents, Guy and Jeanne; his sister, Mary Jeanne (Curly); and his brother, Robert (Bob).Private family burial will be held at a later date.
