Willard Gaston JeanesBartlett, TNWillard Gaston Jeanes of Bartlett, TN, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the age of 88. He was born on November 2, 1928 in Ripley, MS to the late Thomas Mallie Jeanes and Esber Wilbanks Jeanes. Gaston retired as a captain on the Memphis Fire Department after 30 years. He loved vegetable gardening, construction projects, fishing, enjoying laughs, stories and conversations, lending a helping hand to anyone he met. He loved our Lord and Savior and was also a longtime member of GracePoint Baptist Church. Gaston was preceded in death by his loving wife Nadie Duncan Jeanes, passing six months ago, and a brother John William Jeanes. He is survived by his, two daughters Sherry Deskins(Zane),and Donna Jeanes Dewitt, all of Bartlett, TN, three grandchildren Justin Deskins, Jeremy Evans, and Leticia Taylor; and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Polly James and Aylene Settlemires of Ripley, MS. He loved his many nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will receive friends beginning at 9 a.m., until service time at 11 a.m., on Saturday, April 8, at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN 38133. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 61 CR 247, Tipplersville, MS. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the Salvation Army or .
