Wesley Elvin Sheets, 90, of Amarillo, died Monday, October 3, 2016.

Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at Comanche Trail Church of Christ Chapel with Lawrence Ward officiating. Burial will be 3:30 P.M. at the Altus Cemetery in Altus, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mr. Sheets was born on July 7, 1926 in Campo, Colorado to Tressie Lee Lackey and Edwin D. Sheets. His family moved to Texline where they farmed for many years. He married Elsie Irene in 1946. They moved to Altus, Oklahoma in 1984. He was employed by Poole Chemical Co. until his retirement in 1991. Wesley was a long time elder of Elm and Hudson Church of Christ in Altus, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elsie Sheets; a sister, Lena Clark; and a brother, Ernest Sheets.

Survivors include daughters, Janyt Lee May of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Janyce Marie Wood and husband Bill, of Amarillo, Kathleen Anne Sheets of Dallas, Texas; son, Keith Edwin Sheets, of Amarillo; Seven grandchildren, and twenty-one great-grandchildren, and two-great-great-grandchildren.
