Wayne SharonDes MoinesWayne A. Sharon passed away on Monday, August 07, 2017 at Taylor House in Des moines. A memorial service for Wayne will be held at 10:00 am. Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle. Interment of ashes will follow services in Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville, Iowa. Wayne was born on April 30, 1922 in Des Moines, Iowa to Seth and Bertha Sharon. Wayne graduated Spring Hill high school in 1940. Wayne was very proud of his service in the U.S. Navy, 1944-1946. After the Navy Wayne worked for 30 years as a shipping manager for Armstrong Tire in Des Moines. After retirement, Wayne worked for several years as a tax preparer for H&R Block, in Des Moines and in Phoenix, AZ. He was quite talented as a handyman. It was said that he could walk past a machine and it would fix itself!Wayne was devoted to his family, and worked very hard to support them. He loved getting together with family and friends, and would gladly sit up talking well into the night. Wayne was an animal lover, and was very attached to his two Miniature Dachshunds, Gus and Duchess. He was known throughout his life as one of the most helpful and considerate people you could ever meet. Wayne is survived by his son Larry Sharon of Des Moines. Wayne was preceded in death by his wife Jean in 1989; second wife, Marlys in 2015; parents, Seth and Bertha and siblings, Robert, Edwin, Alice, Dorothy and James.Memorials for Wayne may be directed to the American Legion.
