Wanda June CarterLenoir City, TNWanda June Carter, age 85, passed away June 15, 2017, at Ft. Loudoun Medical Center in Lenoir City. She was a member Big Mountain Baptist Church in Coalfield. Wanda was born on March 27, 1932, to Rev. Roscoe and Estelle Carter. She was blessed during her 85 years with the opportunity to make contributions as an employee of Union Carbide Corporation, Martin Marietta Energy Systems, Haselwood Enterprises, Inc., Haselwood Services and Manufacturing, and most recently the American Commissary LLC in Lenoir City, Tennessee. Wanda is best described by her friends and family as a Christian, honest, hardworking, true friend, fighter and last, but not least, "She Never Waited for the Storm to Pass....She just Learned to Dance in the Rain." She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Clyde Carter; sisters, Violet Freels, Ethlene Carter, Bonnie Carter, Evelyn Carter, and Leita Phillips; and son, Joe West. Wanda is survived by her granddaughter, April West; great-granddaughters, Brittany West and Shelby Roberts; sister, Rose Wood Haselton; 14 nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and many lifelong friends. Family will receive friends 5-7pm Saturday, June 17, at Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with a service to Celebrate Wanda's life to immediately follow.
