This obituary is administered by:
Waleeta T. SchwartzWaleeta Teme (Wredberg) Schwartz was born on April 6, 1938 in Bellingham, Washington. She went to her rest on Aug. 29, 2014, fully believing that Jesus will awaken her to eternal life on the Resurrection morn at His Second Coming. She was born the eldest of two children to the late Walter and Teme (Bemer) Wredberg. Her mother was a one-room school teacher for the Seventh-day Adventist Church's Christian educational system for 23 years and her father a construction sub-contractor. She had a younger brother Walt Jr. who preceded her in death in 2004.She attended Seattle Jr. Academy and then Auburn Adventist Academy, graduating in 1956. That same year she married N. Dean Schwartz on Sept. 4. They made their home in Seattle and later moved to a house with acreage in the Auburn area. She worked at a potato chip factory for a time, then as a mail clerk at Seattle Hardware for many years before becoming a full time homemaker.Their family grew to include three daughters, as well as horses, a burro, cows, goats, chickens, cats and dogs - she loved animals and named each one. She learned to tame horses and loved riding them. Her favorite horses were a palomino named Princess, a brown bay named Jube, and a black pony named Simba - a range colt she trained to ride that became a playmate for all three daughters through the years. In the mid 1970's, desiring to live in a more rural atmosphere, the family moved to Ellensburg where she again began working outside the home as a waitress, box factory worker, and finally for 20 years as the house manager for the Presidential families of Central Washington University. She enjoyed using her talents of decorating, organizing, and setting up for formal dining there as she prepared for receptions, dinners and special events held many times a month at the presidential house. During her tenure she served under four presidents.Waleeta was an excellent baker and cook. She enjoyed gardening - especially roses, travelling, photography, driving fast cars, being a dedicated wife, mother and grandma, working with young people, walking, playing with her animals, and her quiet devotional time with God. She was known by many for her thoughtful cards and letters she would send to encourage those who needed it. She was an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and played a key and determined role in the establishment of Valley Christian School. She is survived by her husband of 58 years N. Dean Schwartz, daughters June (the late Forrest) Cross, Cheri (Troy) Redberg and Carissa Schwartz all of Ellensburg; grandchildren Jennifer (Joel) Mundall of Valle de Angeles, Honduras, David (Crysta) Cross of Livermore, California, Mandy Yuskoff of Ellensburg, Cameron Corbin of Yakima, and Kimberly Madden and Chloe Beach both of Ellensburg; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Teme Wredberg, younger brother Walt Wredberg and son-in-law Forrest Cross.Services will be held on Sunday, September 7, at 2:00 pm at the Ellensburg Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 415 W. Fourteenth Ave., corner of Okanogan and 14th. All are invited to attend.
