WILLIAMSBURG - Virginia Adams, 81, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2017, at Morningside of Williamsburg (VA). She was born on April 16, 1935, in the Bronx, New York to James and Evelyn Robinson. Virginia lived in Old Bridge, New Jersey for many years where she had a long career as a Library Assistant with the Old Bridge Township Public Schools. She and her husband, the late Peter Adams, retired to Williamsburg in 1997 and settled in Ford's Colony, where they became active in many clubs and local organizations. Virginia was a communicant of St. Bede's Catholic Church and had served as an Extraordinary Minister. Virginia and Pete spent their retirement years travelling the world and enjoyed spending time at their home in Ship's Watch, Duck, North Carolina. Virginia is survived by her daughters Nancy (Steve) Hathaway and Susan (Chris) Doherty, both of Williamsburg, sons Frank Mulvey of Colorado Springs, CO, Dan Mulvey of Belmar, NJ, and John Scott Mulvey of Portland, OR, and stepchildren, including Marybeth (Bill) Toms of Millstone, NJ. "Nanny" is also survived by her grandchildren Damian Riddell, Brian Mulvey, Elisabeth Spivey, Luke Hyland, Natalie Vaughan, Angelina Hathaway, Kate Hyland and Quinn Hyland, and great-grandchildren Troy Spivey and Dimitri Vaughan. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Pete in March, 2016, her parents, sister Patsy Garrison and brother James Robinson. Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 19, 2017, from 5-7 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg. A Mass will be offered on Friday, January 20, 2017, at 11:00am at St. Bede Roman Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg. The family would like to thank the staff of Morningside Williamsburg and Consulate Health Care of Williamsburg for their kindness and care of Virginia in recent months. The family requests memorial donations be made to the National Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., FL. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 in remembrance.
