Kobza, VirginiaVirginia Kobza, age 93, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI died Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Our House on 16th Street in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.Virginia was born on December 22, 1922 the youngest of 6 children born to Clarence and Catherine (Buska) Nowak. She remained extremely close to her brothers and sisters their entire life.On May 16, 1942 she was united in marriage to Clarence Kobza. They resided in California while he was in the Army and stationed there. After returning to Wisconsin she was asked to be a Girl Scout leader and happily served in this capacity for 12 years. After her son James was in school she returned to school at the Wood County Teachers College. She went on to graduate from UW Stevens point with a degree in Education. Virginia began to teach children with learning disabilities and was consumed with this position, so much so she later wrote a book about her experiences in this field.In retirement, Curly and Virginia enjoyed wintering in Florida where they entertained many family members. She was always a gracious hostess and enjoyed this aspect of her life. Virginia is survived by her son, James (Lorilyn) Kobza. She is further survived by grandchildren Jennifer Olivarez and her daughter Elizabeth and Elizabeth's daughter, Amelia; Timothy Kobza; Melissa Shuda; and Megan (Tom) Hilke and their son, Sam. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews that she was close to and dearly loved.Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; her brothers, Frank, Eddie and mike and her sisters, Eleanor and Alyce and her special friend, LaVonne Ruesch.A grateful thank you to Pam and Tammy and the entire staff at Our House which was her final home.Per her request there will be no visitation or funeral service. There will be a mass said in her name at a later date.Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, WI is assisting the family.
