This obituary is administered by:
Virginia F. Ross GREEN BAY Virginia F. Ross, age 86; a beautiful, talented, intelligent, faith-filled loving mother was called to heaven on Friday, May 6, 2016. Her loving family was at her side at Woodside Assisted Living in Green Bay, WI. Virginia was born on July 1, 1929 in Toledo, OH to Anthony and Frieda (Bloching) Schmidt. She attended St. Agnes and Blessed Sacrament grade schools and graduated from Central Catholic High School in Toledo, OH in 1947, with honors. She worked as a secretary for Textileather Corp. for nearly 5 years. On February 3, 1951 she married Richard E. Ross. They celebrated 64 years of marriage before Richard passed on March 19, 2015. They were blessed with two sons and two daughters, six granddaughters and two great-granddaughters. Virginia was a talented artist who enjoyed piano, singing, sewing, quilting, cooking, volunteering, traveling, playing games, especially Dominoes and was an avid reader all her life. She recently said, "I am my happiest when I have a big stack of books in front of me." She has left us a legacy of amazing recipes, books, quilts, journals of her life experiences and love of her family. What a wonderful gift she gave us! Virginia and Richard taught us all so much about how to be good parents, to work hard, to be honest, but also to have some fun. Virginia and Richard spent winters in Florida and summers in WI after Richard's retirement. They moved to Green Bay in 2005 to be close to family when Richard's health began to decline. She lovingly cared for her husband until his death. She is survived by three children: Dr. Michael Ross (Mary Jo) of Green Bay, Laura (Lee) Voeks of Waukesha, Beth Ann (John) Urick of Racine. Six granddaughters: Amy (Aaron) Mahoney, Allison (Chad) Pamperin, Amber Urick, Mallory (Matthew) Walters, Alisa Ross and Kaitlyn (fiancè Elijah) Ross. Two great granddaughters: Riley and Drew Pamperin. One great grandchild expected in June. Sister-in-laws Arlene (Don) Griesinger, Judith (Ron) Mierzwiak, and Joslyn Ross, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E., son, Richard A., sister Julie Glandorff, parents, mother and father-in-law, sister-in-law Beatrice Ross, and brother-in-laws Robert Ross and Robert Glandorff. Virginia's final request was for us to continue the works of mercy by sending memorials to St. John's Homeless shelter in Green Bay and Unity Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 10:00 am in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 9:00 10:00 am. The entire family would like to especially thank Virginias daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Ross, who provided years of loving emotional and physical support for Virginia and Richard. We would also like to thank the staff at Woodside Assisted Living in Green Bay and Unity Hospice for providing Virginia with loving care.
