Riffel, Virginia E. 81, of Wichita, KS passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 in Wichita. Virginia was born on July 15, 1934 in Hope, KS the daughter of Ted and Marie (Gruber) Schlesener. Virginia and Oliver Riffel (passed 2012) were united in marriage in Dec. of 1961 in Salina, KS. She retired after 35 years from St. Joe Hospital in the nursery. She was a member of a bowling league and Sweet Adelines in Wichita. She attended Redeemer Lutheran Church and later Grace Lutheran Church both in Wichita. Survivors include her loving son, Ron of Wichita; sisters, Lavon Gray, Marlene Gottskalkson; brother, Gene Schlesener; grandchildren, Holly, Heidi and Ben; and nephew, David Riffel of Wichita. Visitation with family present will be from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, January 31, 2016, at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 2016, at Grace Lutheran Church, 3310 E. Pawnee St., Wichita. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita.
