Virginia Darley Miller, age 92, passed away on October 4, 2013, at home in Marysville, Washington. She was born on March 1, 1921 in Klamath Falls, Oregon. She is survived by her son, C. Daniel Miller and his wife, Lois; and daughter, Sheri D. Edmonds and her husband, David. Virginia was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Grandma Ginny". She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion D. Miller and her son, Charles J. Miller. Virginia was the youngest of six children and spent all of her childhood and teenage years in Oregon. She married Marion D. Miller on September 9, 1939 and shortly after, they moved to Seattle, Washington, where Marion was a pilot for United Air Lines. A very creative person, Virginia loved gardening, reading, writing poetry, painting, entertaining and decorating her home. Virginia had a very unique sense of humor, delighting in practical jokes and gag gifts. Sometimes her love for having parties would combine with her sense of humor, resulting in a beautiful silver chafing dish filled with a rubber chicken that would spring out when the lid was removed. She and Marion loved their grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. She always had a candy dish filled with chocolates and a freezer filled with ice cream. Virginia was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as a worker in the Seattle Temple and in the Family History library in Lake Stevens. She loved family history and wrote and published a book about her mother's ancestors. Always a happy and gracious lady, Virginia will be greatly missed by all of us. The family would like to thank the Sahara Adult Family Home in Marysville for their loving care of Virginia for the last six years. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at the church building in Smokey Point, 17222 - 43rd Ave NE., Arlington WA.
