Virginia A. RayNov. 6, 1926 - Nov. 7, 2016LAKEVILLE - Virginia A. Ray, 90, of Lakeville, IN, passed away at 12:11 a.m. Monday, November 7, 2016, at Memorial Hospital. She was born on November 6, 1926, in Mosinee, WI, to the late Charles and Ruth (Hoover) Marburger. On April 10, 1948, in Denver, IN, she was united in marriage to Lewis Quincy Ray, Jr., who preceded her in death on September 5, 2007.Mrs. Ray is survived by three sons, Lewis Q. (Helen) Ray III of South Bend, IN, Kenneth (Ann) Ray of Lakeville, IN, and John (Cindy) Ray of Granger, IN; four grandchildren, Kelly (Sean) Conley, Ryan Ray, Kyle (Stephanie) Ray and Ted Beveridge; one great-grandchild, Rowynn Conley; and brother, Bud (Joyce) Marburger of Peru, IN. She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Esther, Marge, Nora, Norma and Barbara, and three brothers, Clarence, Charles and Kenneth. Mrs. Ray moved to South Bend in 1947. She worked along with her husband at Ray's T.V. and Appliances for fifty-one years. She was a member of Maple Grove United Methodist Church where she was very active in fundraising and church activities, especially the “Country Store”. She enjoyed cooking and sewing.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2016, at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.Contributions in memory of Virginia A.
