Viola Mearday, 73, of Jacksonville, North Carolina, passed Friday, February 09, 2018. Viola was born to Peter Mearday, and Louella Mearday, November 01, 1944 in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

Viola graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1962. Viola worked at Tarheel Cleaners until she retired in 2001.

Ms.Mearday is Preceded in death by her parents, her one and only son Oliver J. Mearday, her siblings three sisters Doretha Dorthy and Alberta Mearday two brothers Donald Lee Mearday, and Peter Mearday and her grandson Christopher Mearday.

Viola is survived by 5 children:  Margaret Carter (William Carter), Charlene Mearday, Lisa Myles (Jimmy Myles), Vernessa Smith (Willie Smith), and Amanda King. She also is survived by three nieces CeCe Murphy, Carolyn Jackson, Melvia Mearday and one Nephew James Mearday. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren Antione, Tyrone, Jeremiah, Kenyon, Marcus, Damon, Derrick, Brandon, Jeremy, Rolando, Lashunda, Ashley, Kim, Kyera, Jasmine, Charmaine, Brittany, and Donnetrice. 31 grand nieces and nephews and 42 great grand nieces and nephews. her best friend Ruby Bibbins and many more family members and friends.
