Viola Debettignies1920 - 2013Viola Debettignies, 92, of Kenosha passed away Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013 at her home. Viola was born on Dec. 9, 1920, in LaCrosse, Wis., the daughter of the late Otto & Elizabeth (Huss) Muller. She was educated in the schools of LaCrosse. She married Francis Debettignies on Aug. 25, 1941, in LaCrosse, Wis. She was employed as a custodian at St. Marks School for many years. She was a member of St. Marks Catholic Church. Her hobbies included volleyball, making quilts, baking, cheering for the Cubs, and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her children, Frederick (Sue) Debettignies of Somers, George Debettignies of Kenosha, Jane (Dan) Schrader of West Bend, Wis., Rita (David) Strope of Paddock Lake, Wis., John (Jennifer) Debettignies of Kenosha, Kathleen (Robert) Robak of Kenosha, James (Robyn) Debettignies of Kenosha; her brothers, Richard (Evelyn) Muller of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Otto Muller of Billings, Mont., Robert (Betty) Muller of Ripon, Wis., Raymond (Nancy) Muller of Onalaska, Wis.; 20 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis in 1969, daughters, Margaret Rosenberg and Mary Knudson. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at St. Marks Catholic Church from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 12 Noon. Burial St. James Cemetery.
