Viola Catherine Klebba, 96, of Harbor Beach, passed away peacefully on Dec. 5, 2016, with her family by her side, at Courtney Manor Nursing Center of Bad Axe. She was born on Nov. 21, 1920, to the late Thomas and Frances (Kociba) Grates. She and Frank Klebba were united in marriage on Jan. 16, 1943, in Harbor Beach. Together, they owned and operated the Half Way Tavern for 26 years. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2005. Viola was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, of the Holy Name of Mary Parish. She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, flowers, and being with her grandchildren and family. Viola is survived by her children, Delphine Peplinski and her husband Virgil, Sr. of Ruth, Frances Holdwick of Bad Axe, Jack Klebba and his wife Ricky of Harbor Beach, Ronald Klebba and his wife Nadine of Hood River, Oregon, Elizabeth Booms and her husband Lloyd of Ubly; grandchildren, Michelle (Rob) Sowles, Deanna Kidd, Virgil Jr. (Tami) Peplinski, Scott (Amber) Holdwick, Sarah Holdwick and friend Tom, Shannon (Russ) Weston, Sheila (Mike) Woodke, Bryan (Sara) Klebba, Benjamin Klebba and special friend Laura, Jessica Klebba and special friend Sean, Jason (Nayeli) Booms, Nicole (Brandon) Greyerbiehl; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Robbie, Ashley and fiancé Ryan, Joshua and special friend Erica, Trent, Shane, Toni, Nikati, Raven, Blake, Jenna, Savana, Hayley, Alayna, Kristin, Katelyn, Finnegan, Evan, Emily, Michael, Matthew and Landon; sister, Sister Mary Ann Grates, I.H.M., and brothers, Stanley, Earl, Jim and Raymond Grates. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Mark Booms; sister, Lillian Schave, and brothers, Frank, Clarence, and Art Grates. Funeral services for Viola will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016, at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, of the Holy Name of Mary Parish, with Fr. William Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation for Viola will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Visitation will also be from 10 a.m. Thursday until time of services at the church. A Parish Vigil Service will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
