Belza, VictoriaIt is with great sadness that we, as a family, announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and auntie, Victoria Belza. Vickie passed away into her heavenly home on April 8, 2017 at the Brooks Health Centre, Brooks, Alberta, at the age of 95 years. Vickie was born on July 25, 1921 in Goodeve, Saskatchewan and raised along with her 5 siblings. After leaving home to attend Teachers College, Vickie received a teaching position in Rosefield, Saskatchewan (south of Val Marie). It was at Rosefield that she married the love of her life, Frank Belza, in 1946. They lived on the family farm and had 5 children. Frank passed away in 1959. When leaving the farm Vickie moved to Saskatoon and enjoyed the fellowship and worship at St. Paul's Cathedral. In her later years, she moved to Brooks to be closer to her children. Victoria had a heart to reach out and pray for all in need. She was predeceased by her husband, eldest son, and 4 brothers. Victoria is survived by her 4 children, 4 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a sister. The family thanks the many caregivers for the kindness shown to their mother, special mention to Sunrise Gardens Care Home, The Brooks Health Centre, and the St. Mary's Catholic Community. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 17 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Mary's Catholic Church, Brooks. Rev. Raul Hernandez Celebrant. Interment at Rosefield Cemetery, Rosefield, Saskatchewan. In memory of Victoria, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Brooks and District Health Foundation for Dialysis Machine, Bag 300, Brooks, Alberta T1R 1B3.
