Winkle, Vernon,Vernon Winkle, 85 passed away Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017.He was born on Oct. 23, 1931, attended Owen Co. High School, was a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy, an Army veteran and owner of Hazelwood Drugs and Winkle Pharmacy located in Louisville. He had many local and state pharmacy accolades and practiced pharmacy up into his 70's. Aside from his commitment to Pharmacy, he cared deeply for his paintings, fishing and Kentucky Basketball, never growing out of his small town upbringing.He was preceded in death by his wife Patsy Jean Wortham, daughter Eva Jean Winkle and his parents Elsworth and Nannie Winkle.Survivors include his children Stephen A. Winkle, Peggy J. Richards and David V.Winkle, grandchildren and great grandchildren.Graveside service 11 AM, Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Hardin Memorial Park in Elizabethtown, Ky.
