Vernon H. Goergen1934 2014Vernon H. Goergen, 80, of Kenosha, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Manor Care.He was born on Jan. 25, 1934 to the late John and Lavera (Bambrough) Goergen in Kenosha. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha.Vernon entered the US Army and was honorably discharged on April 17, 1956.Vernon married Wanda Carroll Pfeiffer on July 23, 1982 in Kenosha.Vernon worked at MacWhyte Wire & Rope for 44 years. He was a member of UAW Local #960.Vernon enjoyed camping, traveling and bowling.Vernon is survived by his wife, Wanda; his children, Ted (Kay) Goergen of Kenosha, Mike (Laura) Goergen of Pittsville, Katherine Bergernon of Granton, Roxanne Rocky Goergen of Gridley, Calif., Ron (Jill) Pfeiffer of Pleasant Prairie, and Rhonda (Kevin) Murdock of Little Paris, Ind.; his siblings, Ron (Elaine) Goergen of Kenosha and Joy Hudson of Mason, Arz.; his 22 grandchildren; his seven great grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Raymond Skip Nelson of Iola, Wis.He is preceded in death by three sons, Joe Goergen, Francis Goergen and Randy Pfeiffer; and a sister, Bonnie Rae.A Memorial Service for Vernon will be held on Friday, June 27, at 2 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Full Military Honors will follow. Visitation will be held on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
