Verna (Torgerson) HansonDecember 29, 1926 – December 7, 2016Verna passed away peacefully at the Circle Drive Special Care Home. Verna Grace Eleanor was born on December 29, 1926 to Oscar and Mary Torgerson in the Fosston, SK. area. She passed away just short of her 90th birthday. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Kenneth in 2004; brothers and sisters and spouses, Morris (Ethel) Torgerson, Irene (Claude) Lawrence, Edna (Harry) Hanson, Clifford Torgerson, Lloyd Torgerson, Robert Torgerson and Marvin Torgerson. Verna is survived by her son, Kelly (Dianne) Hanson; and daughter, Valinda (Harald) Westberg; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Gavin) Rans, Chad (Jody) Hanson, Melissa (Peter) Noesgaard, Vanessa (Jordan) Willey, Melanie (David) Leoni and Brittney Westberg; and eleven great- grandchildren. Also surviving Verna are her sister, Lillian (Arnold) Petty; sisters-in-law, Barb Torgerson and Raelene Torgerson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Tompkins Funeral Home of Wadena. The Funeral will be held at Nut Lake Lutheran Church, Monday, December 12 at 2:00 p.m. Viewing will take place before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nut Lake Lutheran Church.
