Vern E. PickardClyde TownshipVern E. Pickard, age 90, of Clyde Township, passed away on April 5, 2017. He was born on March 1, 1927, in Port Huron, to the late Edmund and Emma Pickard.He married Betty Rinker on August 28, 1946, in Port Huron. She preceded him in death on September 3, 2016. Vern retired from the City of Port Huron. He was a home builder, farmer, and carpenter. He enjoyed hunting and was a member of the Moose Lodge. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.He is survived by his son, Edmund Pickard of Harrison Township, four grandchildren; Rebecca, Melissa, Brandon and Bryce, several great grandchildren, sisters; Mildred McElroy and Alice Harris, daughter-in-law, Karen Jacobson, along with several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by a son, Herbert Pickard in 1989 and a brother, William Pickard.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 1:00pm in the Jowett Funeral Home Reception Center. Pastor Max Amstutz will officiate. Visiting will be from 12:00pm (Noon) until time of service.
