Vera Violet Soerens, 90, of Cedar Grove, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at Pine Haven Christian Home, Prairie Crossing. Vera was born on August 20, 1927, in the Town of Eden, to Earl and Cecilia Nelson. She attended Glenbeulah Schools. On July 2, 1949, Vera married Marvin "Stormy" Soerens in Sheboygan. Vera was a loving and dedicated homemaker while raising her children. She was a member of St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Kohler. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and doing puzzles. She enjoyed listening to Big Band music, dancing with her husband, and spending time with her beloved family.Vera is survived by her husband, Marvin "Stormy" Soerens of Cedar Grove; two daughters, Christine (Michael) Buzaitis of Sheboygan, WI, Elizabeth (Anthony) Sproehlich of Grafton; five Grandchildren, Robert Buzaitis, Steven Buzaitis, Jonathon (Cathy) Buzaitis, Ryan Lynch, Thomas Lynch; two Great-Grandchildren, Lennon Buzaitis, Avery Buzaitis; three sisters, Jeannette Sasse, LaVerne Balthazor, Doris (Norman) Nickel; brother, James (Lesa) Nelson; sister-in-law, Nancy Nelson. Vera was further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Cecilia Nelson; her brother, Robert Nelson, and other sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Vera's life will be held at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church on Friday, October 20, 2017, at 11 am. A burial will take place at Cedar Grove Cemetery.Relatives and friends may greet the family at the church on Friday from 9:30 am until the time of mass at 11 am.
