Vera Ruth CrosbyAge: 89 • BurlingtonVera Ruth (Chase) Crosby, 89 of Burlington died peacefully Wednesday, January 25, 2016 with her children by her side. She was born on January 14, 1928 and was married to Ronald T. Crosby for 60 years.Vera is survived by her daughter, Karen (Crosby) Felton and her husband, son, William Crosby, daughter Kathleen (Crosby) Thornton and her husband, James, and son, Brian Crosby and his wife, Toni; 15 grandchildren,12 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and several brother and sister-in-law's. She was predeceased by her husband Ronald T. Crosby, her sons David and Michael.Vera was very active with various volunteer activities including Christ the King Parish and "Meals on Wheels". She was an avid gardener, enjoyed playing cards, loved to bake and cook sweets and prepare large meals for her family and friends. A service will be celebrated on Saturday, January 28 at 10:00 AM at the Ready Funeral Home, 261 Shelburne Road, Burlington, VT. Burial will be in Resurrection Park Cemetery, South Burlington at a later date.
