AUBURN — Velma F. Jordan, age 100, of Auburn died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016 at Presence Sacred Heart Home in Avilla. Mrs. Jordan was born on Jan. 10, 1916 in La Paz, Indiana to Francis and Pearl (Flesher) Rowe. She married Frederick H. Jordan on January 20, 1935. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1995. Mrs. Jordan worked at Rieke Corporation in Auburn for 18 years, retiring in 1978. After her retirement from Rieke Corporation in Auburn she was an Avon salesperson. Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Williams of Auburn and Karen Hanson of Ogunquit, Maine; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Mary Beth Jordan of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frederick; and two brothers, Harold "Jack" Rowe and Gene Rowe. Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Christian Union Cemetery in Garrett. Memorials are to Presence Sacred Heart Nursing Home, 515 N. Main St., Avilla, IN 46710.
