Vearline S. (Stevens) Smith, 82MUNCIE - Vearline S. (Stevens) Smith, 82, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital.She was born on August 7, 1934 in Muncie, the daughter of Hubert L. and Eva Mary (Parks) Stevens.Vearline attended Muncie Central High School. She worked for Muncie Community Schools as the Cafeteria Manager for twenty-eight years. Vearline was a member of the Euchre Club, enjoyed gardening, and taking care of her family.  Survivors include her one son, Richard J. Smith; one daughter, Deborah K. Gross; significant other, Bill Stephens; grandchildren, Chris Gross, Walt Gross Jr., Jaret Smith, Drew Smith, and Tracie Wash; one sister, Norma Catey; three brothers, Wayne Stevens, Kenny Stevens, and David Stevens.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lloyd W. Skeeter Smith, son, Thomas D. Smith, grandson, Mitch Smith, two brothers, Keith and Wallace Stevens and sister, Lois Wright.Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2017 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.
