Traci Lynn PayneBorn: August 30, 1966Died: April 15, 2017Traci Lynn Payne, age 50, of Sycamore, formerly of Sterling, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Kishwaukee Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.Traci was born on August 30, 1966 in Sterling, the daughter of Darrell and Nancy (Waldschmidt) Holbrook. She graduated from Newman Central Catholic High School in 1984. She married Dean Payne on June 15, 1990 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sycamore. Traci's daughters were her world. She was always helping with their activities and never missed a sporting event. She had the biggest heart and would do anything for anyone. She loved her family and was a wonderful friend.She is survived by her husband, Dean; her two daughters, Molli (Jordan) Sopko of Kirkland and Bailie Payne (Colin Quinn) of Sycamore; her parents, Darrell and Nancy Holbrook of Sterling; her brother, Scott Holbrook (Susie Ottens) of Orion and his children, Kristen and Jeffrey Holbrook; maternal grandfather, Harvey Waldschmidt; paternal grandparents, Dorothy and Allen Hendryx of Rock Falls; her mother-in-law, Wilma Gascoigne of Amboy; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Cindi Payne of Amboy, Janine (Tony) Shipman of Amboy, Kay (Dale) Ligtenberg of Amboy, Gerald (Rosie) Eisenberg of Franklin Grove and Brenda Payne of Dixon; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and three special children that she watched, Grace, Anna and William Beetz of Sycamore. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Waldschmidt; two brothers-in-law, David and Douglas Payne; one nephew, Travis Payne Ligtenberg; one niece, Tabetha Shipman; and one uncle, Michael Holbrook.Visitation will be Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, 1002 12th Avenue. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling.
