Thomas SuttonThomas Ernest Sutton, 62, of Lafayette, died at 11:55 AM Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at IU Health Arnett Hospital. Tom was born on December 29, 1954 to the late Ernest and Mary Jo Sutton (Keener). Thomas was married to Theresa Bellah in Lafayette. She preceded him in death.Thomas was a craftsman, a carpenter, and an avid reader. He enjoyed working with his hands and fostered a love of the Earth and of nature. He enjoyed time with his son's and grandchildren; spending afternoons playing board games or simply talking. He found peace and strength in meditation and yoga. His path in life was often arduous but he faced his challenges with honor and resolve; his strength of spirit never fading, even when his body finally did.Surviving are his two sons, Farron Sutton of West Lafayette, and Dartanion Sutton of Lafayette. Also surviving are his siblings, Everett Sutton (wife Shirley) of NC, Joe Sutton of FL, Johnny Keener of NC, Rosemary Ward of NC, Louanna Keener-Molina (husband Jose) of NC. and numerous nieces and nephews. His grandchildren include Brandy, Cassidy, Ashley, William, Emily, and Lillie Sutton of Lafayette. Tom is preceded in death by three grandchildren, Sasha, Farron James, and Sage Thomas Sutton.Services will be private.
