Steckbauer, ThomasThomas Steckbauer, of Marshfield, died Monday, February 6, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield. He was 52 years old. He was born on June 4, 1964 in Wisconsin Rapids, the youngest son of Kenneth and Catherine (Carroll) Steckbauer. He lived in Wisconsin Rapids until moving to the State Center in Madison in 1971. He moved to Northern Colony in Chippewa Falls and resided there until moving to the Apple Avenue Group home in Marshfield in 1999.He enjoyed family visits, especially his parents, riding in the car, picnicking and ice cream. He valued time with his mother as she would sing to him and play the harmonica for him.Tom will be remembered by his step-mother Patricia Steckbauer, Antigo; four sisters, Mary (Dennis) Ulander of Blair, Nebraska, Ann (Craig) Sheets of Lynnwood, WA, Jane (Wayne) Turner of Coloma, Susan (Sidney) Hunter of Jacksonville, FL; five brothers, William (Catalina) Steckbauer of Pocatello, ID, James Steckbauer and Carmen Light of Kennesaw, GA, Kenneth (Jill) Steckbauer of Coloma, Dennis (Jenny) Steckbauer of Byron, IL, Daniel (Lori) Steckbauer of Wisconsin Rapids; an aunt Monica Steckbauer and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Ann Steckbauer; a sister-in-law Geraldine Steckbauer and a niece in infancy.The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday February 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church 415 Sixth Ave, Antigo with Rev. Judah Pigon M.F. officiating. Burial will take place in St. Boniface Cemetery, Aniwa.Visitation will be Saturday in Hoffmann Hall at St. John Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the time of services.The family wishes to express gratitude to Megen and the entire staff of Apple Avenue Group Home for the loving care that they provided to Thomas for many years.
