Thomas Lynn WollschlagerThomas Lynn Wollschlager, age 80, of Tallahassee was called home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, Sep. 22, 2017.He is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years Georgianna Clark Wollschlager, his parents Frank & Jewell Wollschlager and his sister Judy Powell.Lynn was born on May 14, 1937 in Winston Salem, N.C. In 1948 Lynn's father Frank moved the family to Tallahassee to open the family business Timey Cleaner's. Lynn attended Leon High School and lettered in track & field, basketball and football, he graduated in 1955. Lynn was inducted into the L.H.S. Football hall of fame in 1985. Lynn had a opportunity to play football at F.S.U. but decided to focus on his Business Degree at FSU and was a member of Epsilon Zeta chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity. In 1958 Lynn married Georgianna Clark from nearby Quincy, FL. Hand in hand they experienced life's wonders together until her passing in 2005. During their time together they partnered in business and built their family. In 1961 Lynn opened The Carpet Shop Inc. on 3rd. Ave next to his father's dry-cleaning business. Soon after they had their first child Susan. Lynn moved his business to 1001 N. Monroe St. as his company began to grow. The family would grow again a few years later with son David. Lynn and Georgianna opened a interior design store "The Window Shop" right next door. In 1981 Lynn moved his business to its current location on Capital Circle NE.Lynn loved Florida State University and for decades attended football, basketball, baseball and women's basketball events. He was a Seminole Booster for over 50 years, and a member of the Quarterback Club. Always smiling Lynn loved meeting people, socializing and making friends. As a career business man, he always enjoyed developing professional relationships and was a member of many local clubs and organizations. In 1961 Lynn, his father Frank and cousin Dr. Phil Wollschlager along with several local business owners started the Tallahassee 100 Club which is an association of local business owners. Lynn was the last living Charter member of this club and was a two-time past president. Lynn was also a member of The
Rotary Club of Tallahassee. He joined in 1971 and was a past President, a Paul Harris Fellow (+8) and the club's 2015 Frederick Clifton Moor award recipient. Lynn was a past president and Hall of Fame member of the Tallahassee Builders Association. In addition, Lynn was a member of the The Elks, Shriners, Free Masons, Scottish Rite, a founding member of N.E.B.A. Lynn loved to share his success by helping local organizations in his community such as The Children's Home Society, Rotary International, Rotary Foundation, March of Dimes, Shriners Hospitals and many more. Lynn loved his church home and was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church. A devout Christian man and believer in the spoken word of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ he served Trinity for decades in a variety of roles from usher to member of the Board of Trustees. Lynn dearly loved his Christian brothers and sisters in his Sunday school class "Bible Journey's" and his dear friend Gregg Alexander.Family visitation will take place at Bevis Funeral Home, 200 John Knox Rd. Wednesday, Sept. 27 from 6-8 pm. The funeral will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church (Park Ave. and Duval St.) on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary with the family receiving guests immediately following the funeral downstairs in Moore Hall. A private graveside service will be held at 2:30 for family members and Lynn's closest friends at the Clark, Stanfill & Moseley Cemetery in Quincy. Lynn is survived by his daughter Sarah Susan Quigley and his son David Lynn Wollschlager (Vilma), sister Beth Hull (Brad), his grandchildren Patrick Quigley, Christina Quigley, Dillon Wollschlager, Colton Wollschlager and his special friend Ms. Jan Soto along with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, loving family members and friends.
