THOMAS JONATHAN DEVANE, JR. Mr. Thomas "Tommy" Jonathan DeVane, Jr., age 87 of Warsaw, NC, died peacefully at home on February 2, 2017. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Padgett Funeral Home in Wallace, NC conducted by Rev. Jimmy Johnson. Burial will be at a private ceremony for the family at Riverview Memorial Park in Watha, NC. The family will receive friends and family on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Padgett Funeral Home in Wallace, NC. Tommy is survived by his wife of 31 years, Alice T. DeVane, his daughter, Patsy Van Ouwerkerk and husband John, his sons, Steve DeVane and wife Brenda, Gene DeVane and wife Mary Graham, Andy DeVane and Kevin DeVane and wife Gayle, step-daughter, Connie Taylor and husband Fred, sisters, Vera Smith, Carolyn Hardie and Josephine Kelly and husband John V., sister-in-law, Doris DeVane, grandchildren, Kim Pridgen and husband Doug, Johnathan DeVane and wife Cameron, Heather D. Ratliff, Jana D. Kennedy and husband Alex, Sara DeVane, Rachel DeVane, Kevin Martin, Karen Herring and husband Will and William Taylor, seven great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and many friends. Tommy was born on March 30, 1929 in Bladen County to the late Thomas Jonathan DeVane, Sr. and Estelle Brown DeVane. He is also predeceased by his first wife of 35 years, Jennie Evans DeVane, brothers, Wesley DeVane and wife Kathy, Durwood DeVane and wife Rita, Doug DeVane and daughter-in-law, Evelyn DeVane. Tommy loved to be outdoors, especially fishing and hunting with his boys. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Casket Bearers will be Johnathan DeVane, Gary DeVane, Alex Kennedy, Doug Pridgen, William Taylor and Will Herring.
