Thomas G. Griffiths, 74, of Montrose, passed away unexpectedly in St. Mary's, Pa., on December 1, 2016. He was born on December 20, 1941, in Pittsburgh. He was predeceased by his father, John C. Griffiths, and mother, Dorothy (Snyder) Maglicic, and step-father, Peter P. Maglicic.Surviving is his wife, Claudia A. (Titchnell) Griffiths; four children and their spouses, Tom II and Karen Griffiths, Lonnie and Stacy Griffiths, Nick and Heidi Griffiths, Natalie and Jeffrey Bowman; nine grandchildren, Joey, Tommy III, Emma, Ellie, Jack, Katie, Gilly, Claudia, and Zachariah; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Constance and James Nicotero, Ruth Ann and Norman Lachimia, Donna Tunstall; two brothers and sister-in-law, John Griffiths, Bob and Christine Maglicic; many beloved nieces, and nephews. Preceding was a brother, James Maglicic; and brother-in-law, George Tunstall. Tom was a U.S. Naval Veteran; he went to Penn State and Point Park University. He worked for IBM for 35 years and was a member of Dormition of Virgin Mary Church, Binghamton, N.Y. Tom was a loving husband, wonderful father, and an amazing grandpop. He loved hunting, shooting, riding his motorcycle, and most of all his family.A visitation was held on Monday evening, December 5, 2016 at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home. Montrose, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. A visitation will then be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral home, Pittsburgh with a funeral service to follow at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the St. Alexander Nevsky Church, North Hills, Pa.; interment will follow in the Union Dale Cemetery, Pittsburgh.Memorial Contributions in Tom's name can be sent to the Dormition of Virgin Mary Church, 54 Baxter St., Binghamton, NY 13905.
