Thomas E. Muns, age 84, of Oscoda, and formerly of Eastpointe, died at his home on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012. He was born on Dec. 12, 1927 in Detroit to the late Jesse and Tommie Muns (nee Moore). Thomas served in the United States Army and later worked as a finish cutter for General Motors for 27 years. He belonged to the American Legion and loved living up North. Thomas is survived by his wife, Barbara, whom he married in Detroit in 1951. He is also survived by his son, Thomas Muns Jr. of Greenbush; son, Ralph (Therese) Muns of Eastpointe; son, Daniel (Nicole) Muns of Bruce Twp.; daughter, Denise Weaver of Oscoda; grandchildren, Renee, Michelle, Adam, Maria, Ryan, Connor, Liam, William and Robert; great grandchildren, Kayla and Landen; and 17 nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his brother, Jesse Jr.; and two sisters, Sarah and Carrie. A memorial service will be held in the spring.
