Kohls, Thomas E.Thomas E. Kohls, age 81, formerly of Kohler, passed away unexpectedly on June 23 at Del Web Hospital, Sun City West, Arizona, following a brief illness. He was born on January 13, 1936 in Manitowoc County, the son of the late Harold and Louise (Pasewalk) Kohls. Tom graduated from Kohler High School. On May 4, 1957, he married Lois Ann Schroeder. They built a life together in Kohler. Tom was a dedicated husband and father; supporting his family while working in the Pottery Department as a Kiln Operator at the Kohler Company. He retired in 1999 after 42 years of service. In 1980 Tom and Lois moved to Crystal Lake where they enjoyed entertaining friends and family on the lake. In 2000, they retired to Arizona, eventually settling in Sun City West, where they immediately embraced retirement community living, meeting wonderful new friends, and taking full advantage of many social activities. Some of his favorite interests and pastimes included treating his dog Abby like a queen, putter's club, NASCAR, shooting the breeze with friends and neighbors, watching walkers try to pick up the penny he super glued on his front sidewalk and following Lois's death in 2012, attending his weekly grief group meeting. While sad for our loss, we are happy that Mom and Dad are together again.Survivors include: Daughter Ann (Dan) Otte of Cedarburg, WI and granddaughters Lauren Otte of Milwaukee, WI and Natalie Otte of Minneapolis, MN. Daughter Nancy Billmann of Surprise, AZ. Grandson Jeremiah (Jessica) Billmann of Loveland, CO, and great grandson Chase. Granddaughter Jessica (Eric) Billmann Gilbertson of Cave Creek, AZ, and great granddaughters Mila & Lola. Jasmine (Preston) Billmann Wallace of North Platt, NE and great grandsons Ethan & Sawyer. And many dear extended family and friends. Tom's wishes were to be cremated. Plans will be made for a private family service at the Kohler Cemetery. In honor of Tom's memory, memorials can be sent to Grace United Church of Christ, Kohler, WI or Desert Palms Presbyterian Church Grief Group, Sun City West, AZ.As Dad would say, "end of story" and it was a great one!
