Ringsred, Thomas B.Thomas B. Ringsred, 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in his new home at New Perspective. He was born on February 19, 1926, in Duluth, MN to Victor and Hannah Ringsred. He had one last goodbye with his family at his side before God called him to come home. At age 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during WWII from 1944 through 1946, and the Korean War in 1951 through 1952. On May 23, 1964, Tom married Janice Buth at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Green Bay. They built a beautiful family together and recently celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary.In 1985, Tom retired from Chicago & Northwestern Railroad, where he got to enjoy his love of trains for 40 years. He enjoyed helping everyone and spread his giving spirit to all. Tom spent over 30 years of his retirement giving of his time to multiple charities, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Bellin Health, Red Cross and the Weidner Center. He had a great sense of humor and always had time to tell a fantastic story. Tom had been a member of the BPOE Elks Club and a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1963. A charter member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, he was active with church picnics and serving at funeral masses. Tom was also a member of the VFW and American Legion for over 56 years.Tom had a love for soccer and his team Manchester United. He also enjoyed the Packers and cheered for them through the good times and bad. There was never a war movie that he didn't like and was an avid reader with a great political mind. Survivors include his wife, Janice; his daughters and their husbands, Renee Plouff, Marla (Mark) Swiecichowski and Terri (Mike) Farley; seven grandchildren, Kendall Farley, Marisa and Mikayla Swiecichowski, Jason Buss, Casie, Melanie and Matthew Plouff; several great-grandchildren; and his sister, Margaret Langlee. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Lori and son in-law, Stanley Buss. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Edward and John Ringsred; his sister, Dorothy Hanson; and brother-in-law, James Langlee. Friends may call at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2771 Oakwood Dr., from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with Rev.
