Thomas A. Woodof Sarasota, Florida, passed away March 15, 2017. Formerly of Indianapolis, he had been a resident of Sarasota since 1983. A Celebration of Life will take place Monday, April 17, at Noon, at the Plum Creek Golf Course, 12401 Lynnwood Blvd., Carmel, IN. A second Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, April 30 at 1 p.m. at 6101 Gator Creek Blvd., Sarasota, FL.He was born on June 30, 1940 to the late Thomas and Marilyn Wood of Indianapolis. He was a graduate of Shortridge High School. He was director of his orchestra, Tommy Wood & His Splinters, performing in the central Indiana area and making lifelong friends.He was a booking agent for the Stan Kenton Band and other artists. He was also part-owner of Northside AMC/Jeep from 1977 to 1983, and owner of CRA Marketing, 1985 - 2014.He was a member of the Defense Orientation Conference Association and participated in 16 DOCA programs.He is survived by his companion, Sandra Pierson; sisters, Susan Jane Meyer Wood (deceased), Deborah Sundstrom; and step-daughters, Paula Baugh and Pamela Goad.
