Mr. Thermon Parmer, age 75, of LaGrange died on March 2, 2015 at his residence.
Mr. Parmer was born on July 5, 1939 in Woodland, Alabama to the late John D. Parmer and Inez Harper Parmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Barry Parmer. Mr. Parmer proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his service, Mr. Parmer was involved in a number of businesses in and around LaGrange. He owned the LaGrange Bay Service Station, Yamaha of LaGrange, and because of his love for hot rods, old cars and racing, he started West Georgia Street Rods and even opened a Go-Cart Track in LaGrange. For the last 28 years, he had been a Bus Driver for the Troup County School System, and for many years a member of the Grace Baptist Church.
Mr. Parmer is survived by his wife, Becky Parmer of LaGrange; sons, Brad Parmer (Alison) and Jody Parmer (Karen), all of LaGrange; grandchildren, Justin Parmer, Sydney Parmer, Lindsey Parmer, Jamoson Hart and Gavon Hart; great grandchild, Colton Owen; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Benefield officiating. Interment will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. On line condolences may be sent to the family at www.higginslagrangechapel.com.
