A Life Well Lived

Terry Mark Fellner, age 54, passed away in a hospital in Saga, Japan on April 1, 2018, after a long battle with brain cancer.  He is survived by his loving wife, Miki, and two children, Ayli and Hideki; his father, Al Fellner (Estevan, SK); brother, Brent Fellner & Jeannette Lussier (Martensville, SK); sister, Tanya (Garth) Lueke (Lethbridge, AB); his nieces and nephews, Sarah (Shawn) Mackie and their two children, Mason & Lincoln (Prince Albert, SK), Daniel, Katie, and Jamie Lueke (Lethbridge, AB); and many cousins, aunts, and friends.  He was predeceased by his mother, Bev Fellner (Estevan, SK).

Terrence was born on November 7, 1963, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.  From the moment he could talk and walk, his zest for life was apparent; whether he was telling tall tales, climbing telephone poles at the early age of three or cliff diving in the Philippines in his twenties.  Terry made friends easily (his friends were not only from Canada but from around the globe) and once a friendship was established, he made sure to keep that person in his life; listening to him talk happily about experiences with people his family had never met or looking at his Facebook page proved just that.

He loved to talk and debate and could discuss topics such as politics and religion with as much ease as talking about his childhood or his favorite recipes.  He went to University in Regina and received two degrees, one in Geography and another in Education.  He always talked about traveling and after coming back from a university student exchange to Cameroon, West Africa he said he would like to visit other countries. He did so by touring Europe on his own for a few months. He taught in Arcola, SK until 1994 when he applied and was accepted, to teach English in Japan and never looked back.

While in Japan, he met his wife, Miki and had two beautiful children; completed his Masters in Communication; got a job at Saga University and continued to fulfill his lifelong dream of traveling by going to countries such as Poland, the Philippines, Ireland and Cambodia.

Terry, we love you.  You will be greatly missed and will live on in all our hearts.
