NICHOLSON Teresa (Terry) Gwendolyn (nee Turner) Terry was born on August 1, 1947 in Victoria, B.C and passed away on January 20, 2017. Predeceased by wonderful parents, William and Audrey Turner, she leaves to mourn her loving husband and best friend of 35 years, Doug Nicholson; aunts; many cousins and friends and her Church family at the Salvation Army Citadel (Victoria Corps). Terry lived the majority of her life in the Gorge area and enjoyed walking nearly every day in that area. Terry was born with severe scoliosis of the spine which over time caused her to lose the use of her left arm and to have breathing problems, but she kept on going with her oxygen cart, usually smiling through it all. After graduating from Esquimalt High School in 1966 having won the Secretarial Award for shorthand and typing, she found a secretarial position with the Provincial Government, first working for the Department of Social Welfare and then with the Attorney General's Ministry for a total of 25 years. She will be sadly missed but not forgotten. She will be cremated and placed to rest alongside her mother and father at Royal Oak Burial Park. Terry wanted to thank everyone who had been kind to her throughout her lifetime especially to long time friends, Betty and Russ Leech, her cousin, Linda Palmer, Roberta Adlam, her sister in Christ and various Victoria Taxi and Handydart drivers that took good care of her and to thank her physician, Dr. Azaria Marthyman and her Respirologist, Dr. Ian Waters for their care over the years. A Memorial Service and Reception will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 3:00 pm. Donations may be made in Terry's memory to the Salvation Army (Victoria Citadel Corps) 4030 Douglas Street, Victoria BC V8X 5J6, for their good work in the community and improving people's lives or the charity of your choice.
