Tamara SmithTamara Smith, 69, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2014, at the home of her sister in Benson, Utah. She was born on February 24, 1945 in Logan, Utah, to Ephraim and Rachel Hughes Smith.Tamara grew up in Smithfield, Utah, where she graduated from North Cache High School in 1963. Tamara married Johnny Edwards and they were later divorced. She was endowed in the Bountiful Temple.Tamara began her career working in Salt Lake City for the LDS Church; later she worked for Valco, Cummings, Utah Power, and finally the Davis County Municipal Court where she retired in 2011. Through her years of working she made numerous lifelong friends. During Tamara's years of working at Utah Power she transferred to Smithfield to work and to help take care of her mother. She was always willing to serve and help anyone in need. Tamara loved spending time with friends and family. She always had a bag packed and was ready to go on any adventure. She spent a lot of time camping, traveling, and even opened her home to visitors on countless occasions. Many nieces and nephews loved getting to spend time with Aunt Tam. Tamara was preceded in death by her parents, Ephraim and Rachel Hughes Smith, and her close friend and Cousin Dana McClellan and Dana's two daughters Michelle McClellan and Angelic Keirnes. Tamara is survived by her siblings, Connie (Robert) Seamons of Benson, Utah, Burke (Kathy) Smith of Smithfield, Utah, Roger (Nancy) Smith of Amalga, Utah, and fourteen nieces and nephews as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.A special thanks to hospice, West Bountiful 10th Ward and her friends and neighbors for friendship and countless hours of compassionate service they provided Tamara. Tamara's family is eternally grateful for the care and love she received.A Funeral service and viewing will be held on Wednesday July 9 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-days Saints building, 1730 N. 900 West, West Bountiful, Utah. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:45 a.m. with the funeral starting at 11 a.m. Graveside services and burial will follow at Smithfield Cemetery, 300 E.
