Tagamoa Matua, 71, husband of Olini Aiono Matua of Kearns Utah, passed away Friday July 10th, 2020.

Born in Fagamalo Sava’i to “Pops” Tuipoloa Lauina and Mautoatasi Ieremia Matua.

For the first 13 years of his life, Nofo Seti lived in Fagamalo Sava’i, fishing, cooking, working, playing and interacting with missionaries that came to visit Pops on the island. One of the missionaries was Bruce Nelson. At age 14, Pops arranged with Bruce to have Dad come to Utah to live with his family in Green River Utah. He lived there until age 19, when he was called to serve a mission in his homeland of Western Samoa. He married Olini Aiono in the Los Angeles Temple on March 29, 1974. In 1976, 6 months after their twins were born, they moved and raised their family in Kearns Utah.

Nofo Seti was preceded in death by his older brother Tagomoa Lauina Matua and his wife Falepolu. Nofo Seti is survived by his beautiful wife, Olini Aiono Matua, his sons, Marion Nofo Matua and his wife Holly of Kearns UT, Marcus Matina Matua and his wife Rebecca of Hurricane UT, Lauina J.R. Matua of Kearns UT, Milton Sama Aiono of Kearns UT, Matina Aiono Jr. and his wife Kamie of South Jordan UT; daughters Earline Leone Sauvao and her husband Elia of West Valley, UT, Olini Fay Falatea and her husband Steven of Hau’ula, HI, Jennifer Ta’afulisia Fuaali’i and her husband Lave of Kearns UT, Alysha Saua Aiono of Kearns UT and Misimua Nyla Lomu and her husband Kauasi of West Jordan UT; 34 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is also survived by his brothers Fepulea’i Maluofale Pritchard and his wife Linda of American Samoa, Bruce Nelson and his wife Ann of Green River UT, Randy Nelson and his wife Jackie of Green River UT; his sisters Emeline Toalepai and her husband Faaleaga of Compton CA, and Carol Wilson and her husband Richard of St. George UT, and many nieces and nephews that he loved and adored.

Two services will be held to honor Nofo Seti. Family services will be held Friday July 17th at 6 p.m. at the Kearns Utah East Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The address is 4300 West 4715 South. Bishop services will be held the following day, Saturday July 25th at 10 a.m. at the same location.
