Barber, SylviaSylvia R. Barber, 87, of Van Dyne, went to her final resting place on Sunday, December 18, 2016.She was born on April 21, 1929, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of John and Margaret Mueller Seurer. She was a graduate of Fond du Lac Senior High School, Class of 1947. She worked in offices in Milwaukee and Fond du Lac until she met Rolland L. Barber, whom she married on July 23, 1949. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2008.Over the years, she belonged to a few organizations, a past trustee of National Mutual Benefit Fraternal Order #695, secretary/trustee on the Silver and Gold Club Board of Directors for Marine Credit Union, the Rusty Rails Group, and the Merry Merganser and the Golden Years Club.The major part of her life was dedicated to being a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, making ornaments, reading and other crafts.She is survived by eight children: Ronald (Theresa) Barber, Gary (Jaclyn) Barber, Kathleen Kimpel, Bruce Barber, Sharon (Daniel) Vande Slunt, Mark (Sandy) Barber, John Barber, and Russell Barber; 28 dear grandchildren; 28 darling great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Bev Fredricks; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rolland; a sister, Margaret (Gib) Stephany; a brother, Franklin (Audrey) Seurer; a son-in-law, Carl Kimpel; a great-grandchild, Michael Amara; and nieces and nephews.VISITATION: The visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Kurki-Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac, and from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at Sacred Heart Church of Holy Family Parish, 232 South Peters Avenue, Fond du Lac.SERVICE: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Sacred Heart Church of Holy Family Parish.Burial will be in Rienzi Cemetery.Kurki-Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory is serving the family,
