Sueann Elaine SherryCamarillo, CAAfter a short hospital stay, Sueann Elaine Sherry passed away peacefully at her home in Camarillo CA on Tuesday, February 21 2017 surrounded by loving family and friends.Sueann was born on May 10, 1945 in Ely, Iowa to Milo and Rachel Trpkosh. She grew up on a farm surrounded by a large family and that set the tone for family events proving to be something very important to Sueann for her entire life. Her pre-planning for parties and gatherings was legendary and she expended great energy to made sure things were perfect in preparation. Her cooking skills were beyond description and anyone that witnessed Sueann preparing for a party by scurrying around the kitchen in high heels with an apron on will never forget the memory.Sueann's professional career was notable for a number of different career paths she chose to discover. She attended Prairie High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and later graduated from Coe College and obtained a teaching credential. She was a substitute teacher for several years and then decided to focus on being a homemaker while simultaneously contributing to a successful small business that she co-founded at home. Several years later, Sueann moved from the Midwest to southern California where she earned her real estate license and became a successful real estate agent. As much as she enjoyed her earlier career pursuits, it was her decision to attend the Ventura College of Law in 1979 that lead to her crowning career achievement of becoming a lawyer. She earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in 1983 and passed the Bar Exam on her first attempt. She subsequently opened her own family law practice on Daily Drive in Camarillo and became a family law specialist, where her intelligence, warm personality and business acumen lead to many successful years of law practice. During her career as a lawyer, she met fellow family law attorney Donald Gerber and they quickly became partners and soulmates. She and Donald put together a great Japanese Cloisonné enamel art collection which has been donated to Los Angeles County Museum of Art with an exhibition and book scheduled for late May 2017. Until Sueann's final breath, she and Donald were inseparable and her love for Donald, her children, grandchildren and many friends and family proved to be a sustaining force for Sueann in her final years.Sueann was one of the most generous, kind and loving human beings to ever grace this earth. She possessed stunning beauty, yet was humble and always was concerned with the welfare of her loved ones. She travelled extensively and inevitably made friends wherever she went. Her love and beautiful smile will be deeply missed. The kindness she showed to everyone she ever met will be a beacon of goodness and light that will never fade.Sueann is survived by her partner Donald K. Gerber, her son David (Jennie) Dennis, daughter Dade Murphy, grandchildren Michael Dennis, Stephanie Dennis, and Mark Snelling, sister Sally (Larry) Clark, brothers Robert (Charlene) Trpkosh, Tim (Jackie) Trpkosh and Craig (Christine) Trpkosh and numerous nieces and nephews.
