Steven WolvertonBattle CreekSteve Edwin Wolverton, 70, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at home. He was born on August 1, 1946, the son of Nathan E Wolverton and Edith Elizabeth (Stott) Stanton.Steve served and was a veteran in the United States Navy. Steve retired from the U.S Postal Service after 38 years of service.Steve was a member of the Polish National Alliance and the American Legion.Steve is survived by his Wife of 16 years - Lorna (Wingfield) Wolverton of Battle Creek, Michigan; Sister, Gail (Ed) Kennedy; Two Brothers, Richard Wolverton, Nate (Hope) Wolverton; Son, Gary Wolverton; Step-Daughter, Kimberly (Megan Berns) Bisard and Grandson, Jacob Wolverton; . He was preceded in death by his Father, Nathan E Wolverton, Mother, Edith Elizabeth Stanton and Step-Son, Robert Rountree Jr.Steve was a sports fanatic. He loved football, fishing, NASCAR, golf, baseball, bowling, gambling and drinking beer. He was a huge Detroit Tigers fan. He loved to travel.
