LAOTTO — Steven Francis Moses, 65, of LaOtto, passed away at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015 at his home in LaOtto. Mr. Moses was born on June 1, 1950, in Fort Wayne, a son of Louis Herbert and Mary Elizabeth (Bennett) Moses. He spent his formative years in Fort Wayne, and graduated from Dwenger High School. He was an avid modeler and collector of HO Scale Model Railroad. He was a member of the Nickel Plate Society, Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society, and was part of the restoration team that completed the 765 Steam Engine. Steve also enjoyed many motor sports and took part in many classic car cruise-ins. He loved being at the lake and spending his winters in Bonita Springs, Florida. Surviving are his daughter, Becky (Rick) Freeman of LaOtto; a sister-in-law, Marcia (Louis P.) Moses; a nephew, Benjamin (Amy) Moses; and a great-nephew, James. Also surviving is his oldest, dearest, most loyal, and caring best friend, Valeria Cheek. He was preceded in death by both parents, Louis Herbert and Mary Elizabeth Moses; a brother, Louis Patrick Moses; and a nephew, Capt. Steven James Moses, M.D. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Dec. 19 at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, with Pastor Lane Burgland, officiating. Burial was in the St. Vincent's Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. For those who wish, memorials may be directed to Noble County Humane Society.
