Steven L. "Lonzy" McCollumSteven L. "Lonzy" McCollum, 29, of Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 2:15 p.m.  Steven was born on July 2, 1988 in Lafayette to Philip and Kitty (Switzer) McCollum, and they survive.  He married Allison "Ally" Anwander on July 7, 2016 in Lafayette, and she survives as well.  Steven worked for the Local 22 Union Iron Workers.  He was a member of Grace & Mercy Ministries.  Steven loved being a great daddy to his daughter, and was a family man.  He enjoyed fishing, sports, roller skating, playing basketball, and doing hair.  He loved playing with his nephew, Owen.  He also loved his dog's, Kingston, and Princeton.  Steven was very active and loved to make people smile. Surviving along with his parents, and his wife, is one daughter, Journey McCollum (3 months old), his grandmother, Margaret Switzer, and four siblings, Chris McCollum, Phil Emery, Bryce Henderson, and Terry Lee McCollum.  Also surviving are several aunts and uncles, and a very special cousin, Casey Brouillette.He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Carroll "Rex" Switzer, and best friend Brenton Ginn. Services will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior at Simplicity Funeral Care with Reverend Scott Lehr officiating.  Final interment at St. Mary's Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the family for the care of their daughter Journey in c/o Simplicity Funeral Care.  Share memories and condolences at www.simplicity-funeralcare.com.
