Steven Joseph Borer, age 55, passed away on Friday, November 11th, 2016. He was born on September 24th, 1961 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lorain Ohio. He grew up in Sheffield and Sheffield Lake, Ohio graduating from Brookside High School in 1979. An avid athlete and sports fan after discovering football at age 9, Steve was co-captain of the BHS football team and wrestling team and played for Ohio Canoe Football Team after graduation. Steve enjoyed watching many games with his sons and friends. His favorite teams were The Browns, The Ohio State Buckeyes, The Cavs and The Cleveland Indians. Steve loved to fish and camp. He enjoyed cooking out for friends and family. A hard worker, Steve most recently was employed at Technifab in Avon Lake, following 30 years of service at Danco Metal Products. Steve chose to be an organ donor and will be helping many others have a better life.He is survived by his sons, Joseph W. Borer of Avon Lake and Jacob P. Borer of Sheffield Lake, and furry son Brutus "Escape artist" Borer of Lorain; Steve is also survived by his father Joseph L. Borer of Sheffield Lake, his sister Tracy Wingate, his brother Robert Borer, his nephew Philip Wingate, daughter of his heart, Ashden Smith; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother Sharon Borer, his Grandma Margaret "Margie" Smith, and his paternal grandparents William and Ruby Borer of Sheffield Lake Ohio.
