Stella Boss Foster Person was born on December 15, 1927, to the late Boss Foster and the late Estella Johnson Foster. Stella B. was called home to our Creator on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at John Knox Manor Nursing Home in Montgomery, Alabama. Stella B. was the matriarch of her family and a loving mother. Being an exceptional and outstanding woman, she earned the titles: Madea, mother, mama, Aunt B., and Dutsie! She was a full time homemaker and wife. Stella B. and her late husband were entrepreneurs who successfully operated a family owned store, farm, baseball facility, sawmill and trucking company. Stella B. later decided to relocate to Montgomery where she pursued a career in private duty nursing and was one of Montgomery's most sought after nurses. She worked and cared for Montgomery's most prominent residents. Stella B. loved Saint John's Church where she served on the Senior Usher Board, Gospel Choir, Treasurer and Steward Board. Most of her service was under the leadership of the late Dr. Anderson Todd. She took pride in her cooking skills, sewing and enjoyed entertaining. She was the youngest of six siblings which preceded her in death. Stella B. was married to the late Eugene Person Jr. and to this union four children were born: the late Wayland Earl Person, Ernestine Person Harrison (Montgomery, AL), Donald Gene Person (Linden, NJ) and Syrinthia Person Evans (Atlanta, GA). She is survived by 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law Marylene Foster (Clayton, AL), a God daughter, Ashley Knight, and a host of relatives and friends.Stella B. will be greatly missed because of her ability to greet with her signature smile.A visitation will be help on Friday night, March 10, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at White Chapel Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating her life is set for Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 12:00 pm at St. John's AME church. Graveside will follow at Greenwood Serenity Cemetery.
