This obituary is administered by:
Sorina T. MontesJune 7, 1952 - March 13, 2016Sorina Tomasa Montes, 63, of Marsing was called to heaven by our Heavenly Father on March 13, 2016. Sorina was born on June 7, 1952, in Harlingen, Texas to Francisca Juarez Perez and Gabriel E. Perez Sr. Sorina was the third oldest daughter out of ten siblings. Sorina grew up in California where she was always eager to help around the house and cared for her 10 siblings. Even though it was hard work she never saw it as a chore. In 1979, Sorina moved with her family to Idaho. Sorina was a migrant worker alongside her parents and siblings. During one of the harvests she met and married the love of her life, Atanacio Montes Sr. Together they shared a lifetime of memories and loved each other dearly. Together they were blessed with two wonderful sons, Atanacio Montes Jr. (Conchita Montes) and Moises Montes (Eliza Montes). Sorina was always proud of her sons especially when they both took their oaths as police officers. Sorina was blessed with 8 wonderful grandchildren. Prior to her health deteriorating she worked as a Home-School Coordinator for the Marsing School District. During the time she was employed at the School District Sorina helped many families and had a passion for her work. "Tano," as Sorina called her husband, had to also take an early retirement to help take care of her. Sorina was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and grandmother. Sorina had a love for her grandchildren like no other. Sorina often stayed on the phone for hours talking with sisters and her sister-in-laws. Sorina recently talked to her sisters about her wish of someday celebrating her granddaughter's Quincenera. Sorina's siblings will remember her as a true mother figure, always giving them advice. Sorina's husband and sons will remember her as the great woman that she was and will miss her dearly. Sorina was preceded by her mother Francisca Perez, her maternal grandmother Maria Ramos Juarez, her sister Carmen Esquivel. Sorina is survived by her father Gabriel Perez Sr. and her siblings Joe Perez (Brenda), Mary Suarez (Francisco), Sylvia Olvera, Erma Perez (Tony), Gabriel Perez Jr.(Christy), Anna Gonzalez (Arturo), Robert Perez (Trudy), Johnny Perez (Shiely) and many nieces and nephews. Viewing will be Monday, March 21, 2016 from 5-7:00 p.m., with a Rosary following at 7:00 p.m. at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell, ID.
