BAGWELL Simpson D. Bagwell, age 90, passed away January 29, 2017. Simpson was born on June 15, 1926 in Spartanburg, North Carolina. He was a World War II veteran, retired from the United States Navy, and also worked for the State of Florida. Simpson was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, where he served his church as an usher. Simpson is preceded in death by his wife, Delores L. Bagwell, and two infant children. He is survived by his brother, William Bagwell; sister, Iris; several nieces and nephews; long-time companion, Maxine Yarborough; and long-time friend, Georgiana Barrett. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 11:00am at Town and Country Funeral Home. Reverend Steve McCollum will serve as officiant. Friends will gather one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park with Navy honors.
