Silva "Sib" Bennett WarnerAge: 81 • StauntonSilva "Sib" Bennett Warner, age 81 of Staunton, VA, formerly of Circleville, WV, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Augusta Health in Fishersville, VA. She was born on April 26, 1935, in Circleville, WV, the daughter of the late Henry E. and Virginia (Vest) Bennett. On December 30, 1954, Silva married Jack Thomas Warner, her husband of 62 years.Sib grew up on a farm, which instilled in her a love of nature, gardening, canning, and cooking. She graduated from Circleville High School in 1952 and then obtained a degree in Home Economics from Shepherd College. She taught at Bessie Weller Elementary School in Staunton, Va for 30 years where she loved educating "her" 6th grade students, many of whom remembered her fondly on chance meetings they had as adults. Upon her retirement from teaching, she worked at the family insurance agency (Warner Insurance) for many years. She was a member of Third Presbyterian Church and often attended Circleville Presbyterian Church in Circleville. She was an avid reader of National Geographic.In addition to her husband, Mrs. Warner is survived by: 2 sons, Jerry Warner and wife Patricia of Churchville, VA, Joseph Warner and wife Sarah of Richmond, VA; 4 grandchildren, Jack Thomas Warner of New York City, Hillery Bennett Warner of Worcester Park, London, England, Kaitlyn G. Warner and Tyler Steele, both of Richmond; a great grandchild, Dominic J. Driscoll of Worcester Park, London, England; and a brother Henry "June" Bennett and wife Mary June of Circleville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, an infant, Bobby Bennett, Ralph Bennett; and a sister, Mary Bennett Bland.Mrs. Warner's family will receive friends on Saturday, February 11, 2017, 5-7 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will be on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Circleville Presbyterian Church in Circleville. Interment will be in North Fork Memorial Cemetery, Riverton, WV.
