Shirley Frances Rush, age 73, of Lafayette passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at her residence. Funeral services for Shirley Brawner Rush were conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from the Anderson & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Lafayette with Elder Don Curtis and Elder Ricky Wilson officiating. Colton Kirby, Tyler Rush, Kevin Wilburn, K. C. Henry, Chad Cook, John Harper, Jeremy Robinson and Michael Boyd served as Pallbearers. Interment was in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park.

Shirley Frances Brawner Rush was born on January 14, 1943 to the late John Clemon and Mary Neal (Meador) Brawner. She was married to Donald Rush on December 1, 1962, who survives and lives in Lafayette. She worked at Carter Automotive for over 20 years, and was a member of the Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband of 54 years, she is survived by: Daughter and son-in-law: Penny and Perry Kirby, Son and daughter-in-law: Tim and Teresa Rush, Brothers and sister-in-law: John "Junior" and Shirley Brawner, Doyle Brawner, Sisters and brothers-in-law: Jo Nell Wilburn, Mary Dee and Jerry Smith, Judy and Jimmy Boyd, Pam and K.C. Henry, all of Lafayette, Peggy and Charlie Wade, of Greenfield, IN, Brother-in-law: Joe and Peggy Rush, of Lafayette, Grandchildren: Kaitlin and husband, Logan Tuck, of Havelock, NC, Colton Kirby, Tyler Rush, Tia Rush, all of Lafayette, Great-Grandchild: Maverick Tuck, of Lafayette, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
